HP Pavilion dv6-3013nr 15.6-Inch Laptop – Argento

HP Pavilion dv6-3140us laptop is quite light, thin and comfortable to use, has great power, is very fast and robust. The external structure is in good material. The size is perfect.

I’ll start this with a slightly relevant tidbit, I’m in the IT field. The build quality on this laptop is incredible. I love the look, feel, the LED screen looks phenomenal, everything about it screams quality. As for what other reviewers have written, I had absolutely NO problems swapping hard drives.

I got my hands on a 640gb 7200rpm hdd, completely formatted the drive that came in the machine, deleted the partitions, and put it in my Dell netbook without a problem. The machine comes with a lot of preloaded bloatware, and 3 partitions with different HP junk on them.

One of them is a backup of the OS in case something goes wrong, one is some feature that allows users to make BIOS changes while in the OS, and I don’t know what the other is. All partitions can be deleted with no adverse affects to reclaim about 20gb of space. And frankly if you don’t know how to boot into the BIOS, you have no right changing BIOS settings.

The processor is very quick, and 4gb should be enough for pretty much everyone, but you can get 2x4gb sticks and upgrade to 8gb for around $100-150 with a little bargain hunting. I’ve been very pleased with my purchase and I recommend this computer to anyone who needs a laptop with some power behind it.
